Abraham Litman, 87, of Hudson, NH, passed away on September 3, 2024 at Catholic Medical Center. Born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on March 29, 1937, he was a son of the late Max and Rose (Lefcovitch) Litman. He was the beloved husband of the late Edith (Duran) Litman.
Abraham was raised in Canada where he graduated from McGill University with a degree in electrical engineering and proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces. He moved to Boston when he was 23 years old and it was there he met his future wife, Edith. Early in their marriage, they lived in Bennington, VT, and North Adams, MA before settling in Hudson, NH where they raised their family. He began his career working as an engineer for Sprague and later transitioned to marketing for Digital Equipment Corporation for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking, camping, reading sci-fi, doing brain teaser puzzles, and photography. He cherished time with his family and loved telling funny stories and jokes.
Abraham is survived by his children; Joseph Litman and his wife Kim of Derry, NH, Kenneth Litman and his wife Heather of Westborough, MA, and Elaine Hodgdon and her husband Warren of Rochester, NH; grandchildren; Josh, Sarah, Daniel, Elizabeth, William, and Max; sister-in-law Joan McCarthy of Kennebunk ME; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Sol and Joseph Litman and Anne (Litman) Porter.
Services will be on Saturday, September 14th at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. There will be a Memorial Gathering from 1 PM-3 PM with a Memorial Service at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Abraham’s memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
