Adam E. Berk

Adam Erwin Berk, 41, of Bedford, beloved husband of Tania (Ackermann) Berk, passed away unexpectedly at his home, on Saturday, December 31, 2016.

Born in Milwaukee, WI, he was the son of Robin (Bortolotti) and Lawrence Berk. Raised and educated at University School of Milwaukee, he enjoyed playing football. Adam was a graduate of Babson College, Class of 1997, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. During college, Adam served as the editor of the Babson Free Press, and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. Adam also played Rugby with his many dear friends. Adam met his best friend and the love of his life, Tania, at Babson during their freshman year. Adam and Tania married eight years later and were raising 2 beautiful girls.

Adam had an inherent curiosity for technology and was gifted with computers. As a computer and gaming enthusiast, he had a vast network of gaming friends worldwide. Adam was employed by Empirix in Billerica, MA, as the Vice President of IT and Manufacturing. For nearly 20 years, he worked diligently to provide a wonderful life for his family.

A devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, Adam was the pillar of strength for his family. Adam's daughters were the light of his life. They loved playing board games and card games together as a family. Adam also had a soft spot for his daughters' love of kittens, welcoming home Finn and Ollie last fall. Adam and his family enjoyed travelling around the world together and recently spent an extended time abroad in Italy. The family took many trips to the Cayman Islands because scuba diving with his brother, Ryan, was one of his greatest passions. In the last three years, he shared his love of scuba diving with his daughter, Ashley, and she became open water certified last spring. He found great solace and peace while at the beach. Adam will best be remembered for his bright smile and dedication to family.

Adam is survived by his wife, Tania Berk, with whom he shared 15 years of marriage; two daughters, Ashley and Anna Berk; mother and father, Robin and Lawrence Berk of Mequon, WI; brother, Ryan Berk and wife Leigh-Ann of Westford, MA; niece and nephew, Elise and James; parents-in-law, Patricia and Al Ackermann of Amherst; brother-in-law, Alan Ackermann of Groton, MA; and many extended family and friends.
