Adelaide A. Bekech

On Wednesday July 9th, 2025, Adelaide Ann Bekech left this earth peacefully while holding the love of her life’s hand. Annie was a force of nature and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Born March 7th, 1948, in Edinburgh, Scotland, and immigrated to the United States with her family. She often told stories of her childhood days looking for arrowheads with her siblings and friends in the riverbeds of Woronoco. The family relocated to Westfield, where she later graduated from Westfield High School in 1967. A true artist at heart, she applied that to every aspect of her life. She had a real talent for leaving things better than she found them.

Annie married in a simple ceremony, at the age of 24. Later, having 2 children and giving them the most beautiful life. Every day was a new adventure with Annie as your mom. Running a daycare out of her home, while raising 2 young kids, must have been quite a challenge. She worked many other places over the years, eventually retiring from being a greeter at Walmart. She really enjoyed being a greeter. It gave her a chance to meet new people and chat. Over her 77 years, she touched more lives than could ever be explained. She held the kindness all humans should strive for.

She leaves behind her devoted husband Michael. Her cherished son Aaron and beloved daughter in law Veronica. Her loving daughter Jessica, Tanner, and their dogs Earl and Carl that she treated as her own. She also leaves her siblings, whom she loved deeply, sister Barbara and brother Marion. Not to forget her many cousins, nieces, nephews, and in laws. She leaves her granddaughter Alahna (John) and their children. She also leaves many friends, her children’s friends, and their kids as well. She was a honorary mom and grandmother to so many.

She may be gone from this world, but she will live on in our hearts.

A celebration of life will be held on September 14th from noon until 5pm at the Sons of Erin in Westfield MA.
