Albert Eugene Charette, 81, died Friday, March 22nd at his home in Bedford, New Hampshire. He was born on December 5, 1942 in Manchester, New Hampshire, the son of Albert and Lillian Charette.
He was the husband of Sheila Charette (Trovato). They were married on November 1, 1968 in Germany.
Albert attended Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester New Hampshire, received a bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College and then went on to serve in the Army for two years. Albert started out in management, went on to travel as a shoe salesman and quickly turned his passion for shoes into design. Albert was an award winning shoe designer under the Zodiac brand for Encore Shoe Company for over 25 years. Albert also worked for Bennett Shoe Company and Vida Shoe Company in New York City throughout his career. Albert traveled the globe during his shoe industry days and adored bringing gifts home for his loved ones.
Albert grew up playing baseball and basketball. He loved to watch Boston sports and was such a fan he even created a mini hockey rink in his basement named Bedford Garden. Albert loved to spend time with his family including his three children and five grandchildren. Throughout his life anyone that spent time with him sensed his generosity and kindness towards others. He was always known to have a diet coke, he was fond of cooking especially making his famous Pappy’s Pasta, he enjoyed relaxing by a pool or the beach and in his later years he spent his time making puzzles and caring for his dog, Chloe.
Albert is survived by his wife Sheila, children Todd Charette of Weare and his wife Guylaine, Ryan Charette of Goffstown and his wife Tracy and Jessica Lynch (Charette) of Bedford and his five grandchildren Maddy, Annabelle, Kaitlyn, Tyler and Tessa. He is also survived by his brother William Charette of Rollinsford, New Hampshire and Carol Lee (Charette) of Burlington, Massachusetts.
Services will be Wednesday March 27th from 5:00-7:00 at Phaneuf Funeral Homes 234 Hanover St. Manchester, New Hampshire. Family and friends are invited to attend.
