Albert A. Roy died Sunday May 17, 2009 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown after a long illness. He was born in Manchester on May 14, 1932 to Rose (Godbout) and Arthur Roy. Mr. Roy was a lifelong resident of Manchester. He served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War. Al was educated in the Goffstown and Manchester School Districts. He worked for over 40 years for the New England Telephone Company, retiring in 1995. He was an active member of the American Legion, Lions Club and served as President to the Pioneer Club. He enjoyed gardening, traveling and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Lisette (Vachon) Roy of Manchester; two sons, Michael Roy of Long Beach, CA and Stephen Roy and his wife Gina of Laurel, MD and their sons, Christopher and Timothy; two stepdaughters, Gail Couture and her husband Kevin Goulson of Candia and their son, Nicholas, and Sandra and Richard Tombs of Bedford and their sons, Ryan and Justin and daughter Shaylin; one brother, Ronald Roy and his wife Charlene of Manchester, NH; and one sister, Constance Scully and her husband Robert of Rye, NH and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Eva Muntz. His calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover St, Manchester on Wednesday from 4-8PM. His Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Goffstown, Road, Manchester.
