Alfred Z. Hebert, 71, of 171 Massabesic Street, died November 13, 2006 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was born in Manchester on March 27, 1935, the son of Arthur and Emelda (Champagne) Hebert and had been a resident of the city for most of his life. He was a flight engineer in the Air Force during the Korean War. Throughout his career, he had worked as an automotive mechanic. He had also worked at Grenier Field. Mr. Hebert enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and playing pool. He also coached little league.
Family members include his wife, Pauline (Champagne) Hebert; a son, Alfred H. Hebert of Manchester; a daughter, Diane Hebert of Manchester; two grandchildren and one great grandchild; two sisters, Bertha Lesperance of Hooksett and Louise Hood of AR; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 7:30 with a memorial service to follow at 7:30 in the funeral home chapel. Inurnment with military honors will be held on Friday morning at 9:00 in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
