Alice R. (Tatro) Flynn

Alice R. (Tatro) Flynn, 91 of Boscawen, NH, formerly of Warner, NH, and So. Yarmouth and So. Hadley, MA died with her family
at her side, at the Merrimack County Nursing Home, on Jan. 19, 2019.

Alice was born in Springfield, MA, May 3, 1927, daughter of Louis M. and Agnes (Fleming) Tatro. She was predeceased by her husband Howard, with whom she shared over sixty years of marriage, in November 2011. Together Alice and Howard raised their five children in South Hadley and then retired to South Yarmouth, MA in 1987 where they enjoyed daily trips to the beach when weather allowed.

In addition to raising her family, Alice Flynn was an accomplished fiber artist who was well known for her award winning appliqué quilts. She was a long time member of the Bayberry Quilters of Cape Cod.

Alice is survived by her sister Lois Carter and her husband Norbert, and brother-in-law, George Vumbaco. She is survived by five children: Sharon Matuszek and her husband Carl of Chatham, NY, Robert Flynn and his wife Janice Polchlopek of Belchertown, MA, Maureen Hampton of Warner, NH, Timothy Flynn of Wilmot, NH, and Allison Kuzeja and her husband James of Pepperell, MA. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Gwendolyn Hancock and her husband Robert, Elizabeth Spivak and her husband Todd, Gregory Matuszek and his wife Mallory, Trevor Matuszek and his partner Allison Ahlert, and Toni Flynn. Also great grandchildren, Wyatt, Flynn, Zach and Nate.

Alice Flynn was predeceased by her sisters Eleanor DuBois and Carol Vumbaco and her son-in-law Robert Hampton.

Alice's family thanks the Merrimack County Nursing Home for the wonderful care she received during the four years that she lived there.

SERVICES: Visitation will be from 11am to 12pm on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 158 Old West Hopkinton Road in Henniker. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow visitation at 12pm at the church. Interment will be held privately at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
