Alice Sarah (Perkins) Gibbs, 99, of Bethlehem, died Saturday, February 6, 2010 at Grafton County Nursing Home. She was born the daughter of Milo D. and Annie (Shampney) Perkins in Wilmot, NH on September 14, 1910. Alice was predominantly a homemaker for her late husband LWirt M. Gibbs prior to his death in 1990 but had worked in sales and retail for many years. She had attended a one room school house in Wilmot, NJ. Alice enjoyed travelling and preferred Delta airlines as well as playing bingo and doing sewing or embroidery. She and her husband became very learned bowlers and were active in a number of leagues and won many trophies as well. She was a member of the Bethlehem 4H club, The Bethelehem RebeKahs, The Grange and Doral Methodist Church.
She is predeceased by her sons-in-law, Jim Taylor and Harvey Burlock. She is survived by her her sons and daughters-in-law, Clayton and Patricia Gibbs of Port Orange, FL, and Lyle and Dorothy Gibbs of Milledgeville, GA, her daughters, Thelma Enquist Burlock of Bethlehem and Shirley Taylor of Knoxville, TN, a half-sister, Dorothy Kimball of Plymouth, NH, a cousin Emma Richardson of New London, NH, 14 grandchildren, and many great and great-great-grandchildren.
The family will have a graveside service at the Maple Street Cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Bethlehem Heritage Society or the Grafton County Nursing Home.
