Alice Sarah Jenkins

Alice Sara (Livingstone) Jenkins, was born in Hyde Park, MA on March 18, 1954, the youngest child of Roderick and Nellie (MacLellan) Livingstone who came to the Boston area from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.
As a little girl some of her favorite experiences were playing with pets, reading and arts & crafts; all of which she enjoyed throughout her life. One of Alice's stellar skills as a child was to sing every TV commercial she ever heard – verbatim, creating great peals of laughter among her cousins and older siblings. She loved the family trips to Cape Breton and was proud of her Scottish heritage.
Alice received her BS Nursing degree from Saint Anselm College.
After her marriage to Ernest Jenkins III on July 23rd, 1977 they lived in Bedford NH where she practiced nursing. She worked at The Elliott Hospital for 18 years and then several years at area nursing homes. During those years she cared compassionately for oncology patients and the elderly.
Alice loved her extended family, and especially enjoyed showering gifts upon her nieces, grand nieces and nephews. One Christmas stood out when they arrived with Ernie dressed as Santa.
She enjoyed time spent at family gatherings on both the Livingstone and Jenkins sides.
Ernie passed away of a heart attack on July 16, 2011. This was a very difficult period for Alice and her mother-in-law Barbara Jenkins, whom Alice continued to visit often. Alice began attending Bethany Covenant Church in Bedford, which became a blessing to her in her recent widowhood.
Alice will be dearly missed by the members of her family who include: sister Carol Filicchia and husband Ralph, sister Judith DiPalma and husband Robert, brother David Livingstone and wife Sandel; nieces Paula, Julianne, Pamela, Andrea, Terri, Sarah and Kate and their spouses and children; her many cousins and their families; Ernie's mother Barbara Jenkins, as well as other members of Ernie's family.
