Alice Prasch passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026 at the age of 85.
She was born on April 20, 1941 in Manchester, New Hampshire to parents James and Yvonne (Rivard) Vanasse, graduated from Manchester High School West, and remained a city native her entire life. She spent the vast majority of her career working at GTE/Osram Sylvania retiring as a technician in the lighting engineering division.
Alice is survived her daughter Joanne (Nowell) Normand, her husband Brian Cochrane; granddaughter Laura (Nowell) Nickerson, her husband Jon, great-granddaughters Layla and Logan, and great-grandson Jonathon; grandson Jeff Nowell and Erin Humphrey, great-granddaughter Taylor and great-grandson Tripp; her daughter Chris (Normand) Couture, her husband Norm, and granddaughters Julia and Katelyn; and her son David Normand, his wife Debi (Ahern), granddaughter Hunter and grandson Jack. She also leaves behind two step-daughters: Heather Prasch, granddaughter Sarah, great-grandson Kylar, and granddaughter Jordan; and Erica (Prasch) Bulger, her husband Joe, granddaughter Courtney, and grandsons Brian and Matt. Additionally, her sister Doris Foley, sister-in-law Rosemary Stackpole; and sister-in-law Janice Wightman.
She was predeceased by her first husband Charles Normand. She and Charlie met in high school and shared three children together. They spent their years together focused on family and friends and shared a love of softball; which they both played well into their parenthood. She was also predeceased by her brother-in law Andre and sister-in-law Muriel Normand who are survived by their three children; Peter, Ted, and Andrea. Additional loved ones who passed away before her include her brother Henri Vanasse, and sister Irene Howard.
She was predeceased by her husband George Prasch. She and George enjoyed 29 years of marriage and she shared with him her passion and aptitude for golf and as such they were longstanding members of the Intervale Country Club. They cherished their travels in the U.S. to California, Florida, Hawaii, Tennessee, and throughout New England; as well as international destinations such as: Aruba, the Bahamas, Ireland, and Nova Scotia. These journeys provided them with cherished memories and the opportunity to travel with and meet both old and new friends. She is additionally predeceased by his brother John (Bill) Prasch, sister Patricia (Prasch) Poulos, and brother-in-law William (Stacky) Stachpole.
Alice will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and family and friends both old and new. Rest in peace.
SERVICES: A Celebration of Life will be held at Intervale Country Club, 1491 Front St., Manchester, NH, on Saturday, October 17th from 12:00-2:30 pm.
