Alice Sybil Townsend

Alice Sybil Townsend, 88, of Bow, died Thursday, October 11, 2018 following a period of declining health.

Alice was born in Bristol, NH on April 17, 1930 to Adna and Marjorie (Sprague) Hill. She was the devoted wife of Ernest Townsend, until his passing in 1992. She was also a homemaker, loving mother of 5, and a skilled caregiver, dedicating her entire adult life to the care of Mag, her youngest child. Alice and Mag enjoyed watching soap operas daily as well as playing computer games together. Alice also found a great deal of joy in doing the Sunday crossword puzzle every week until recent months when her health began to deteriorate.

Alice is survived by her children, Cheri Merchant of Berlin, Douglas Townsend and wife Dodie of FL, Karen Skelton and husband David of Bow, Annette Graham and partner Marc Beauchesne of Pembroke, and Mag Townsend of Bow; sister Veronica Puffenburger of Franklin; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by many brothers, sisters, other extended family members and friends, and her beloved dog, K.C.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service being held Wednesday, October 17th at 11:00am at Martins Ferry Cemetery on Martins Ferry Road in Hooksett.
