Allan C. Christopher, 79, of Bedford passed away at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon on December 11, 2018 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on December 6, 1939, the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth "Betty" (Ward) Christopher. Allan was a retired Electrical engineer who had previously worked for Raytheon, Mitre, BAE and other companies. He was a lifelong learner, having first graduated from the City University of NY (CCNY) in 1962 with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. He then received his Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn (now NYU School of Engineering) in 1967. He also obtained his Master of Business Administration degree from Northeastern University in Boston in 1974. Most recently he was attending UMass Lowell where he was working on his Doctorate Degree in Artificial Intelligence. A 41-year Bedford resident, Allan enjoyed traveling the world and the US, walking in his subdivision in Bedford with his labs Samantha and Mocha, going to the gym and YMCA in Goffstown, visiting the library, and watching action movies in the evening.
Family members include his wife of 54 years, Thelma (Kristiansen) Christopher; two sons, David Christopher of Bedford and Steven Christopher of Milford. He was blessed with three wonderful and caring grandchildren, Courtney, Lauren, and Owen, whom he adored. He was predeceased by a sister, Anne.
A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester on Sunday from 1 to 3 PM. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 3:00 PM officiated by Pastor Jeff Shupe of Bethany Covenant Church.
