B. Allen âAlâ Sprague, 62, of Amherst, died November 3, 2008 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA.
He was born in Manchester on January 27, 1946, the son of William and Barbara (Eaton) Sprague. He grew up in Goffstown, graduating from Goffstown High School in 1964. He attended St. Anselm college for two years then joined the United States Marines in October 1966. He served in the Marines for three years, including service in Vietnam.
Mr. Spent over 34 years in the advertising and public relations industry. The last 19 years he had spent behind the desk of his own firm, bGG Advertising. He authored âConfessions of an Ad Guyâ in 2002 and contributed to âInside the Minds: Advertising Best Practicesâ with a chapter titled âThe Myths and the Madnessâ in 2007. He was also a well-known local stage actor and long-time board member of the Palace Theatre in Manchester.
Family members include his wife of 24 years, Annette (Dufresne) Sprague, a daughter, Alexandra Sprague of Amherst; a brother, Richard Sprague of FL; a sister, Doris Evens of VA; and nephews, nieces and cousins.
Friends and family are invited to attend a âCelebration of His Lifeâ on Thursday from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Capital Center for the Arts in Concord. It was Alâs request for all to share memorable events and lighthearted stories of him in his memory. He would expect nothing less from those who knew him best. His cremated remains will be interred at the NH State Veterans Cemetery and a small portion will also reside at his favorite golf course.
