ALMAMAE RICHARDON GIRARD
FRANCONIA, NH --Almamae Richardson Girard died on Thursday, May 12, 2016. Alma was the daughter of Solon and Lilymae K. Richardson of Sugar Hill NH, where her family owned and operated the Caramat Inn.
Alma attended the Dow Academy in Franconia, New Hampshire and St Mary's Episcopal School, now the White Mountains School. Alma was one of the first two females accepted at Tufts University. She attended in the hope of pursuing a medical career.
Alma retired from The Willows as Supervisor of Housekeeping.
Alma resided 20 plus years with her lifelong love Sam D Mills. They spent winters in Winter Haven, Florida, and summers in Franconia, New Hampshire. They enjoyed antique car shows, airplane club fly-ins and camping but most of all each others Company. Sam passed on February 25, 2015 on his way to visit Almamae at the Lafayette Center.
Alma was very active in the Episcopal Church in Winter Haven and a member of All Saint's Episcopal in Littleton, New Hampshire.
Almamae is survived by her son Robert Solon, her daughter Cheryl and husband Michael Ross, her sister Nancy and husband Robert Ward and sister-in-law Kathleen Richardson. She was predeceased by her brother John Neal Richardson. Alma was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Alma had great love for her family. Alma and her warm smile will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
