Alphee Janelle, 82, of 449 Kelley Street, died May 5, 2000 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center. He was born in Manchester on April 21, 1918, the son of Henry and Clarinda (Guimond) Janelle and had been a lifelong resident of the city. He was in the United States Army National Guard. For over 25 years, he worked for Harvey Construction until his retirement in 1980. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1996 for over 60 years. He was a parishioner of St. Jean the Baptist Church. He was the widower of Lucille (Poulin) Janelle who died in January 1999. Family members include two sons, Andrew H. Janelle of Gastonia, NC and Armand R. Janelle of Manchester; a daughter, Mrs. Dean (Lorraine) Truesdell of Winter Haven, FL; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandhcildren; three sisters, Simonne Morrissette and Doria Robichaud, both of Manchester and Claire Mason of Tilton; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday morning at 10:00 in St. Jean the Baptist Church. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Visiting Nurses Association, Home Heath Care, 1850 Elm Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
