Amelia “Amy” Jacqueline Dube, 58, of Manchester, NH, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2025, at Elliot Hospital after bravely facing chronic health challenges. Born on February 6, 1967, she was the beloved daughter of the late James and Pauline (Lafond) Margetou.
Amy was the devoted wife of the late Edward “Ed” Dube, with whom she shared 28 loving years and two cherished children: James “Jimmie” Matthew Dube of Langdon, NH, and Deanna “Dee” Jacqueline Dube of Manchester, NH. Ed passed in 2015 on their wedding anniversary—a loss Amy carried with enduring love.
A lifelong resident of New Hampshire, Amy was a proud graduate of Manchester Central High School (Class of 1986) and pursued her passion for early childhood education through studies at Hesser College, Manchester College for Lifelong Learning, and NHTI. She spent nearly a decade enriching the lives of young children at local childcare centers, remembered for her uncanny ability to recognize former toddlers years later.
Earlier in life, Amy flourished in the hospitality industry. Alongside Ed, she ran The Amy Touch Catering at Club Joliette, delighting members with her heartfelt cooking. She excelled in fine dining at the Currier Museum and was a banquet captain at the Center of NH Holiday Inn. Her baked goods—made with what many called her “secret ingredient,” love—were a treasured part of every gathering.
Later, Amy worked with Everest Thompson Dining Services, where she took on key roles in catering and kitchen leadership at Raytheon’s Tewksbury facility. She eventually joined Raytheon itself, continuing her strong work ethic in shipping and receiving until her health required her to step away.
Amy had a deep love for the outdoors—snowmobiling in Pittsburg, cross-country skiing, boating, and especially fishing with her dad (though she preferred not to eat the fish). She played basketball and softball in her youth and remained active in her parents’ gardens and landscapes throughout her life. Each year, she proudly harvested vegetables for her homemade pickles and salsa, including her final season in 2024.
A joyful spirit, Amy adored decorating for the holidays, particularly Halloween and Christmas, creating festive displays for the neighborhood to enjoy. She was affectionately known as “Mama Bee” after her daughter’s nickname, and bees became symbols of love and family that she collected over the years. She also shared a deep fondness for bears—especially the polar bear, which came to symbolize strength and protection to her.
Above all, Amy’s greatest pride and joy were her children. She loved them with her whole heart and soul until her final breath. In addition to her husband and parents, Amy was predeceased by her brother, Christopher Margetou, and her faithful cat of 17 years, Oreo Cookie.
A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, May 12, at Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Amy’s memory may be made to the American Kidney Fund, the Manchester Kidney Dialysis Center (1750 Elm St, Ste 100, Manchester, NH 03104), or the NH Heart Association.
