Andrea Howard

The morning of August 13, 2019, Andrea Howard left this world to join her husband Stephen, her partner in life for 57 years. She was a lifelong resident of southern New Hampshire and Massachusetts, born in Fitchburg, MA. Andrea was a strong and determined individual throughout her life. She shouldered hardship and adversity in her younger life, rose above and at age 42 went back to school and earned a college degree with Highest Honors while her husband worked and she cared for 3 children. Andrea worked in healthcare as a Respiratory Therapist for many years. She transitioned to a home healthcare company, starting as a visiting therapist, working her way up to become the company Vice President. She continued a successful career in healthcare management, eventually retiring from the Elliot Health System in Manchester NH.

Her journey into the 'twilight years' was not without hardship. Before retirement she lovingly cared for her husband through heart surgery, then through breast cancer treatments until his early death in 2007. Through her strength and family she began to navigate the years they planned to relax together until her diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia. She endured this difficult and tumultuous disease with dignity letting her quick wit and gentle manner shine through.

Both she and her husband were dedicated to raising their children, ever sacrificing for their success. She was a proud and loving mother and cherished her grandchildren. She looked forward to spending time with family, laughing with her brother, sisters and friends, and enjoyed her garden and traveling.

Andrea leaves behind her son, Daniel Howard, and his wife Jeanne of Rochester, NH; two daughters, Jennifer Howard and her partner Jodi Chunis of Apex, NC; and Stephanie Cormier and her husband Serge of New Brunswick, Canada. Her sisters, Diane Germain and her husband Renaud of Hudson, NH; Judith Moreau and her husband Dale of Manchester, NH; and Melissa Peters and her husband Francis of Manchester, NH; and a brother, Leon "Bobby" Berube and his wife Dori of Abilene, TX. Her beloved grandchildren, Stephen, Joshua and Amanda Holsopple, and Camden and Kimberly Howard; as well as several nieces and nephews.

On Monday August 19, 2019 at 09:30 am, family and friends are invited to join in honoring and remembering Andrea's life for a period of visitation at St Joseph's Parish, 777 West Hollis Street, Nashua NH 03062. At 10:00 am a funeral mass will be held, followed by a brief private burial service at St Lois de Gonzague Cemetery. All friends and family are invited to gather for a life celebration in the banquet room of the church following burial.
