Andrew "Andy" Thomas Pike, 27, of Manchester, died July 7, 2021 of an apparent overdose.
Born in Maine on August 14, 1993, Andy was in foster care since the age of three, his mother having died of alcohol and drug related causes. Everyone Andy met was an instant relative. He desperately sought validation, love, companionship, and friendship each day of his life, yet many times felt depressed, alone and lonely. Andy was in the Class of 2010 at Manchester West High School where he played football. He loved music and cars and hoped to begin automotive training this fall.
He is survived by his father, Gregory Barrett of Manchester; his aunt Monica Barrett-Ford of Edgewater, MD; and his cousins Erin and Christopher Ford of MD.
In Andy's memory please consider being a mentor to "at risk" youth and be proactive to advocate for better mental health solutions throughout our society. Remember to hug your children often and tell them how much you love them.
A graveside memorial service is scheduled for Friday August 27th, at noon at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Manchester, is in charge of arrangements. To view Andy's online tribute, send condolences to the family, or for more information, visit www.phaneuf.net.
