Mr. Andrew A. Andy Roy, 66, of Bedford, NH died Monday January 7, 2008 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home in Goffstown following a brief illness. He was born on June 9, 1941 the son of Arthur and Victorine (Plante) Roy. He was raised and educated in Manchester. He graduated from Bishop Brady High School. In 1965 he received his BA in English from St. Anselm College. Throughout his career he worked in the field of education. Initially he worked as a French placement instructor for several years. Later he taught English in Weare. Most recently he worked as a Media Services Coordinator for Merrimack Valley School District for the past 20 years. He was a member of the New England Educational Media Association and the NH Educational Media Association. Andy enjoyed reading. In his younger years, he liked to go camping. He also liked fishing, especially fresh water trout fishing. Andy is survived by his two sons, Jonathon Andrew Roy of Frederick, Maryland and Sean Nathan Roy of Stratham, NH; 1 granddaughter; brother, Lionel A. Roy of Bedford; sister, Estelle J. Ryder of Strongville, OH and several nieces and nephews. In His Life: He also survived by his daughter in-law, Jennifer Roy of Frederick, MD and his granddaughter, Allyson Julie Roy of Frederick, MD. He was predeceased by his 4 brothers, Euclid Roy, Roger M. Roy, Raymond Roy and Bertrand Roy and his two sisters, Leanne Gosselin and Therese Pepin. His Calling Hours will be held at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Ave, Manchester on Wednesday from 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at AM at Parish of the Transfiguration, Manchester. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
