ANDREW M. ROY BEDFORD – Andrew M. Roy, 55, died Monday, February 9, at Catholic Medical Center, in Manchester. He was born on January 2, 1954, in Manchester, the son of Roger and Claire (Courchesne) Roy. He had been a resident of Bedford for the past 30 years. Mr. Roy grew up in Manchester, attended local schools and was a graduate of West High School with the class of 1972. He then attended the NH Vocational Technical College. Mr. Roy was employed with Verizon for 33 ½ years, and worked as a Manager of N.O.C. Maintenance. He was an avid fisherman and member of Trout Unlimited and enjoyed many trips with his brothers and friends including a once in a lifetime trip to Labrador. Mr. Roy also enjoyed working on home improvement projects. Members of his family, in addition to his mother include; his wife of 33 years, Denise L. (Ballard) Roy, of Bedford; 2 sons, Matthew J. Roy, of Quincy, MA; Eric P. Roy, of Bedford, NH; 2 brothers, David Roy, of Manchester; Arthur "Chip" Roy, also of Manchester; 4 sisters, Suzanne Blanchfield and Sylvia Jerzyk, both of Manchester; Cheryl LeBlanc, of Nottingham; Marjorie Landry, of Goffstown; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. IN HIS LIFE: Andy enjoyed life to its fullest. He was extremely proud of his two sons and encouraged and advised them in all of their endeavors. In earlier years Andy was devoted to youth organizations including Bedford Little League and Manchester Youth Hockey. He was a devoted husband who spent many outings with Denise enjoying the beach, concerts, bike riding, snowshoeing, long drives in the "White Shadow," and quiet romantic dinners at home. Andy was always willing to help his many friends and family. The world was a better place while Andy was here and he will be forever missed. SERVICES: Calling hours will be Thursday, February 12, from 2 – 4:30 P.M. and in the evening from 6 – 9 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home, 243 Hanover Street, corner of Union Street, in Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 190 Meetinghouse Road, in Bedford. Committal prayers and burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, in Manchester. It has been suggested that those who wish may make memorial gifts to The American Heart Association, 2 Wall Street, Suite 105, Manchester, NH 03101. Arrangements are under the direction of the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium.
