Angelina Braga Almeida, 77, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, with her loved ones at her side, following a lengthy illness.
Born in Capelas, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal, she is the daughter of the late Jose and Ermelinda Braga. Raised and educated in Sao Miguel, Angelina met and married the love of her life, the late John De Almeida. The young couple relocated to the United States in 1970, where they later welcomed their three beautiful children.
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Angelina’s family was paramount in her life. She cherished time spent with her family and loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Well known for her Portuguese cooking and baking, Angelina showered her family with endless meals and treats, especially while hosting for the holidays. In her spare time, she tended to her rose garden and savored each bloom. Angelina will be best remembered for her kind heart and love of family.
Angelina is survived by her two daughters, Melinda Silva and Holly Almeida, both of Manchester; a son, Dean Almeida and his wife, Heather of Manchester; five grandchildren, Amanda Gaudreau, Justin Gaudreau and fiancée Ashley Payson, Bianca Silva, Aaiden Almeida, and Noah Almeida all of Manchester; two great grandchildren, Chase and Watson, both of Manchester; two sisters, Ines Costa and Cremilde Carvalho, both of Fall River, MA; and many nephews, and nieces in Portugal, Canada, Massachusetts, and California. In addition to her parents, Angelina was predeceased by her husband, John De Almeida, with whom she shared 45 years of marriage; and her three brothers, John, Alfred, and Manuel Braga.
Mãe, you’ve done your job, and now you can rest in peace with Pai. Amo-te.
Services: Her Visitation will be held in the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester, on Monday, January 5, from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated in the St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 207 Hemlock Street in Manchester on Tuesday, January 6 at 10AM followed by her Committal Service at St. Augustin Cemetery, New East Cemetery, 965 S.
