Anita (Soucy) Mitchell, 73, of 124 Alsace Street, died August 25, 2004 at Catholic Medical Center following a long and courageous battle with lung cancer. She was born in Manchester on February 16, 1931, the daughter of Lionel and Beatrice (Petit) Soucy and had been a lifelong resident of the city. She had worked for 17 at Manchester Knitted Fashions until her retirement. Prior to that, she had been employed by J. F. McElwain. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Patrick Church. She was also a current volunteer at Catholic Medical Center and enjoyed playing Bingo. Family members include her husband of 36 years, Eugene Mitchell; a son Daniel Flanders of Hooksett; a daughter, Mrs. Paul (Sandy) Plaisance of Manchester; three grandchildren; a brother, Armand Soucy of Goffstown; a sister, Mrs. Roland (Lucille) Boucher of Manchester; and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Friday evening from 7 to 9 PM. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday morning at 10:00 in St. Patrick Church. Inurnment will follow in the columbarium at Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
