Anita Mary Richard

Anita Richard, 92, passed away peacefully in Raleigh, NC on Sunday, Feb 13, 2022, surrounded by her loving family after a long illness.

Anita was born on September 26, 1929 in Lawrence, MA daughter of the late Meddy and Emily (Bernard) Myers and was also predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Joseph.

Anita was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, GiGi, aunt and friend. She was loved by many because she always put others first, never hesitating to offer help.

Anita absolutely cherished time with her family. She was always up for an adventure- “I’ll go wherever, tell me what time to be ready,” but ultimately, she will be remembered by those close to her for her love of beating anyone and everyone in a game of 45s.

Anita’s Catholic faith was an important part of her life. Family and friends will agree that she lived her faith in the example she set in her daily life. She was a faithful parishioner of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Lawrence then St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Bedford, NH.

Anita is survived by her five children, Bobby (Pattie) of Windham, Brenda (Serge Gallant) of Derry, Karen (Kazem Yahyapour) of Raleigh NC, Donny (Colleen) of Kingston, and Debbie (Bob Winterson) of Bedford; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

SERVICES: Visiting Hours to be held Sunday February 20th from 1PM - 4PM at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH with a Funeral Mass being celebrated the following morning in St. Elizabeth Seton Church begining at 9AM. Burial will be taking place a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Boston Children’s Hospital Trust, 401 Park Dr, Suite 602, Boston, Ma 02215 or Transitions Life Care, 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607 can be made in Anita’s name.
