Anita R. Stolte

September 27, 1924 — May 11, 2024

Penacook, NH

Anita R. Stolte, 99, of Penacook, NH, died Saturday, May 11, 2024 following a period of declining health.

Anita was a lifelong resident of Penacook, born September 27, 1924, to Eugene and Laudina (Leblanc) Vezina, and graduated from Penacook High School, Class of 1942, and often said she also attended Life of Hard Knocks University. She spent many years lovingly raising her family prior to working as a claims adjuster with Blue Cross Blue Shield of NH for 15 years until she retired in 1990.

Anita was a member of TOPS and did a great deal of volunteer work with Concord Hospital where she, along with her knitting club, crafted countless cast covers for patients and caps for newborns. She also volunteered with the food pantry at Immaculate Conception Parish in Penacook and enjoyed spending time with her senior group gathering at Penacook Community Center, playing bingo and poker, and going out to eat. She loved to knit, work in the garden, assemble jigsaw puzzles, and she was a tireless reader. Anita enjoyed travelling and embarked on numerous cruises, but above all else, she loved spending time with family. As the matriarch, she was the glue that bonded everyone together, ensuring the love and relationships continuously grew stronger over the years through her tradition of Sunday Family Dinners at her home.

Anita is survived by her son, William C. Stolte Jr. of TN; granddaughters, Stacey DeVol of Loudon, NH, and Amanda Stolte of MA; grandson, Sean Conlon of TN; great-grandsons, Seth DeVol of Loudon and Jack Conlon of TN; and her beloved cats, Maggie and Minnie. I addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, William C. Stolte Sr. in 2006; daughter, Sharon Woods; brothers, Mike, Leon, and Alphege Vezina; and sisters, Theresa, Aurore, Helen, Bertha, and Florence.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am Friday, May 17th at Immaculate Conception Parish, 9 Bonney Street in Penacook. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Immaculate Conception Parish Food Pantry at the same address.
