Ann E. (Cottrelle) Hodgin, 86 of Brattleboro, VT passed away on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Pine Heights Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born in Bennington, VT on July 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Ralph W. and Louise (Balch) Cottrelle.
Ann grew up in Manchester, VT and attended the Manchester school system, graduating from Burr & Burton Academy, class of 1945. She was employed for over forty years as a telephone operator for NE Telephone and also per-diem as a switchboard operator at the Retreat in Brattleboro. Ann was a member of the Ladies Bible Class, and the BMH Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab team, she especially loved her cat, Kitty.
She is predeceased by a son, Steven Hodgin and a sister, Katherine Danforth.
She is survived by two sons, John Hodgin and his wife Irene of CO and Bruce Hodgin and his wife Ann of Danby. VT; a daughter, Joanne LaVallee and her husband tony of AZ; two brothers, William Hulett of Manchester Center, VT and John Hulett of MT; a sister, Marjorie Morse of Bennington, VT; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friend, Wally White.
There will be no services. Burial will be at Factory Point Cemetery in Manchester, VT at a later date. The KER-WESTERLUND FUNERAL HOME, 57 High Street, Brattleboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
