Ann B. Tebbetts, 70, of 555 Canal Street, died October 31, 2002 at Ridgewood Center in Bedford after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Newton, MA on February 27, 1932, the daughter of J. Walter and Enid (Hallett) Tebbetts and had been a Manchester area resident for over 30 years. She was a 1954 graduate of Brown (Pembroke) University in Providence, RI with a degree in mathematics. She graduated with honors and was a member of the Sigma XI Society. Later she received her masters degree in mathematics from Northeastern University in Boston, MA. She worked as a computer programmer for Sylvania and Bell Labs for many years. She also taught computer programming in Manchester at local colleges. She was active in AA for over 30 years and earned her 31 year medallion. Over the years, she provided extensive support and help to many people in AA. She was a loyal Boston Red Sox fan and attended games regularly. Family members include her brother, Edwin H. Tebbetts of Cohasset, MA; two nieces and three nephews. SERVICES: Calling hours are at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Saturday from 4 to 7 PM. After cremation, a memorial service will be held on Saturday November 9, in Grace Episcopal Church, with her niece, the Rev. Heidi Fantz-Dale officiating. Urn burial will take place at later date in the family lot on Nantucket. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to a charity of ones choice.
