Anthony Joseph Ceci (Tony), a loving father and pillar of his family, passed away surrounded by his loving family on January 3rd, one day short of his 89th birthday. He was born in the North End of Boston on January 4th, 1937, and lived a life marked by hard work and utmost dedication to his family.
He was the son of Italian immigrants (Joseph and Costantina) who came to Ellis Island from southern Italy in 1911. He grew up in the North End of Boston and lived there until his late 20’s. Having 4 children living in a small apartment, he moved to Medford, MA, to raise his family where he welcomed his 5th child.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Catherine (Kay), daughter Deborah and her husband William Woods, and his siblings, Mary (Andy Bosco), Angelina (Ceci) and Esther (Richard Salerno).
He is survived by his children, Catherine of Kittery, ME, Theresa of Stoneham, MA, Joseph and his wife Coleen of Nashua, NH, and Patty of Nashua, NH. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Taylor, her husband Andrew, Anthony, Mathew (Ceci), Brianna, her fiancé, Griffin, and Rebecca (Woods), his partner of many years, Linda Nichols, as well as many nieces and nephews.
As the patriarch of the family, Tony was known for steady guidance and a wonderful sense of humor. He took pride in caring for his family, both immediate and extended. When other dads passed, he took over that role staying involved and providing nurturing, guidance and fun. His values and example will continue to shape the lives of those who knew him.
He was a skilled craftsman and was involved in many a house remodels. From framing to plumbing and electrical work, his stamp is found in both family and friends' house projects. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting and was an avid golfer. His foursome always included family members for a nice afternoon. He loved to entertain in the summer playing bocce ball and was proud that he had the best lawn on the street which was kept meticulous by his hard work.
