Antoinette M. (Champagne) Colby, 83, of 402 Hevey Street, died December 10, 2002 at her residence. She was born in Rhode Island on September 30, 1919, the daughter of Gerard and Mildred (Landreville) Champagne and had been a New Hampshire resident for most of her life. She was a World War II Army Veteran and served with the WACs in Naples, Italy. She was a member of the DAV Chapter 18, the American Legion Post 79 and the VFW. While living in Pittsfield, she was the first woman commander of the VFW Post. She was a parishioner of Ste. Marie Church. Family members include three daughters, Marjorie J. Furgal, Patricia A. Goley and Janine C. Dubuk all of Manchester; two sons, Ronald A. Cote of Manchester and Robert N. Cote of SC; a sister, Dora "Tiny" Godzyk of Manchester and Robert Champagne of Manchester and several nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10:00 in Ste. Marie Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph cemetery.
