Aristotle Ted Bentas, 76, of 279 Silver Street, died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center on August 28, 2004. He was born in Lowell, MA on November 29, 1927, the son of Harry and Kalleroy Bentas had been a Manchester resident for over 70 years. He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1948. He graduated from Hesser College in 1953 with a degree in accounting. After that, he joined the Army National Guard. He worked as a bookkeeper for Ferrettis Market for twelve years and then worked for Pandora Industries for seventeen years until his retirement. Earlier in his career, he worked for Webster Lunch. He was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Family members include his wife of 38 years, Joan (Dellas) Bentas; two sons, George Bentas and John Bentas, both of Manchester; four sisters, Aphrodite Blatsos of Manchester, Helen Benson of Goffstown, Nancy Dahlstrom of Manchester and Amy Desrochers of Virginia Beach, VA; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 5 to 8 PM. The Trisageon service will take place in the funeral home at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Friday at 9:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
