Arsene R. Bournival, 98, of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully on December 11, 2018. Born in Manchester, NH to Arsene A. and Louise (Landry) Bournival on October 5th, 1920, Arsene would go on to spend the majority of his life in Manchester. He enjoyed over 50 years of marriage with his late wife, Ethel Rondeau, and would later remarry Susanne Bournival.
Throughout his life, Arsene worked various jobs in the New Hampshire area, including working for the Waumbec Mills, Truck driving for Mitch Trucking, and 16 years of employment for Associated Grocers. He also proudly served in the US Army during WWII, which is where he acquired his skill and appreciation for driving trucks.
Arsene was a hard-working father who always made sure that his family was taken care of. When he was not working, Arsene loved spending time with his family, especially during the weekends. The son of a conductor, Arsene also had a deep passion for collecting and building model trains, and leaves behind an extensive collection for his family. He also loved playing poker, cribbage and pool with friends, and enjoyed completing puzzles later in life.
Arsene was predeceased by his three siblings, Maurice Bournival, Gerald Bournival and Blanche Lemire. He is survived by his son Paul and Barbara Bournival; Son Andre Bournival and fiancé Sylvia, 5 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Calling hours in remembrance of Arsene's life will be held on Monday, Dec. 17th from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, with a service beginning at 11:00 AM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes on 243 Hanover St. Manchester. His cemetery committal will take place immediately afterwards at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd. in Manchester at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Alzheimers Association of America.
