Arthur W. Hardy, 77, of Goffstown died February 20, 2005 at Bel Air Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Hardy was born on April 22, 1927 in Middleboro, MA the son of the late Wilfred and Ella (West) Hardy. He graduated form Searles High School in Great Barrington, MA and later received his bachelors degree in Business from New Hampshire College. He was a US Navy veteran who served in World War II on the U S S Hornet. Arthur worked in Quality Control for New Boston Tracking Station for over 25 years. In his earlier years he enjoyed writing short stories; several of his works had even been published. Family members include; his wife of 45 years, Rita (Vershaw) Hardy; two daughters, Rita and her husband, Warren Silva of Provincetown, MA and Patricia and her husband Matthew Wallace of Goffstown; two granddaughters, one grandson; one brother, Harold Hardy of Columbus, GA; two sisters, Aileen Van Deusen of Housatonic, MA and Marjorie Meyer of El Paso, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. There will be a gathering on Wednesday, February 23rd from 2:00 until 3:00 PM with a Service at 3:00 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street in Manchester. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
