Arthur J. Mourtgos, 79, formerly of 145 West Rosemont Avenue, died September 23, 2006 at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Manchester on February 24, 1927, the son of John A. and Evanthia (Veziris) Mourtgos and had been a lifelong resident of the city. I his earlier years, he was educated by a private tutor and later earned an associates degree in library science from the University of New Hampshire Manchester. He found pleasure in Greek food, games shows, the Discovery Channel and the Red Sox. He especially enjoyed driving his cars and being visited by his many friends. In His Life: Family members include one sister, Mrs. Kenneth (Esther) Cloutier of Manchester; a niece, Mrs. Peter (Cynthia) Pappas of Bedford; and one nephew, John T. Mourtgos of Salt Lake City, UT. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Mourtgos and by a brother, Tom Mourtgos both of whom passed away in 1998. A calling hour will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 in the funeral home chapel.
