Arthur M. Normand, Jr., 93, formerly of 574 Oak Street, died June 26, 2007 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home. He was born in Manchester on March 12, 1914, the son of Arthur and Marie (Bernier) Normand, Sr., and had been a Manchester resident for most of his life. He was a World War II Veteran, serving with the US Army Medical Corps Regional Hospital at Camp Blanding, FL. He was employed by the State of New Hampshire Liquor Commission for many years. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling to Europe and California. He also enjoyed his dogs and was an avid history reader and cook. He loved spending time with his many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his wife Cecile (Houle) Normand in 2002. Family members include his son, Marc Normand of Mont Vernon; a sister, Rita Proulx of Manchester; a brother, Maurice Normand of Chicopee, MA; and nephews, nieces and cousins. A memorial gathering will take place at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Friday from 5 to 7 PM with a memorial service to follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 PM.
