Arthur (Buddy) Stanton

Arthur (Buddy) Stanton, 69, of Newport, NH, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, NH. He was born on October 24, 1948 in Waltham, MA, to the late Arthur and Mary (Garland) Stanton.

Buddy enlisted in the United States Army after high school, where he honorably served in the Vietnam War. He worked as a truck driver for Swift before retirement.

He loved working on cars, in which he most recently was rebuilding a 57' Chevy. He was actively involved with the American Legion and the VFW. He was a huge animal lover, and loved spending time with friends and family.

He leaves behind his beloved brothers Stephen Stanton of Groton, VT, and Walter Stanton of Groton, VT; sisters Diane Grow of Sandown, NH, and Suzanne Shewokis of Sandown, NH; niece Kathleen Hall of Hooksett, NH; and nephew Paul Michael Grow of Derry, NH.

SERVICES: A visitation will be held at Phaneuf Funeral Home and Crematorium, located at 172 King St. Boscawen, NH 03303, on Friday February 2, 2018 at 9 AM. A committal service will Full Military Honors to follow at 10:30 AM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen.
