Aurelie R. (Chaput) Baron, 87, formerly of 269 Cartier Street, died March 6, 2004 at Bel Air Nursing Home. She was born in Manchester on January 26, 1917, the daughter of Auguste and Roseanna (Martineau) Chaput and had been a lifelong resident of the City. She was the widow of Roland C. Baron who died in 1995. She had worked for Tom OShanter Clothing for 12 years and was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was a long-time parishioner of Ste. Marie Church. Family members include a son, Andre Mugsy Baron of Manchester; two daughters, Mrs. Robert (Lucille) Champagne and Mrs. Paul (Priscilla) Goulet, both of Manchester; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren; two brothers, Antonio Chaput and Armand Chaput, both of Manchester; three sisters, Mrs. Rita Mailhot, Mrs. Irene Philibotte and Mrs. Therese Johnson all of Manchester; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Tuesday from 5 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday morning at 10:00 in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
