Barbara A. Holmes

Barbara (Haley) Holmes, 87, a longtime resident of Bethlehem, New Hampshire, passed away on January 23, 2024, in Littleton. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of Oscar and Alexandra (Collier) Haley.

She graduated in 1957 from Central Maine Medical School of Nursing and was a registered nurse for many years. She married Ralph Holmes in 1957, and they moved to Bethlehem in '1959. Her family remembers her love of quilting and crafting, and the beautiful plants that she cultivated and grew.

Surviving are her five children and their families, Bradley Holmes, Cindy Holmes, Rachel Charland, Russell Holmes and wife Ruth, and Jennie Holmes; six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, nephews and nieces. Barbara was predeceased by her husband of forty-two years, Ralph W. Holmes; her grandson, Nathan Holmes; her parents, and sister, Ethel Haley Dyar.

A private committal service will be held in the spring at the family lot in Maple Street Cemetery, Bethlehem.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations in their mother's memory be made to the Bethlehem Ambulance Service.
