Bedford, NH â Barbara T. Kindelan, 62, died on Monday, March 7th, 2011, with her sister, her niece and her friend, Kathy Fortin, by her side.
Born on April 17, 1948, in Jay, ME, she was the daughter of H. Walter Tucker and Beatrice (Adams) Tucker. She was raised in Cherryfield, ME and attended local schools. She was a graduate of Cherryfield Academy (1966) and Westbrook College (1968), now the University of New England.
Barbara had been a resident of Manchester and Bedford, NH for more than 40 years. She enjoyed a long career with McLane Law Firm, in Manchester, NH spanning 38 years. She began her career as a legal secretary in 1971 working for Arthur Greene. Arthur recognized her potential and encouraged her to become litigation paralegal in 1980, a position where she was held in high regard until her retirement in 2009.
Barbara loved the outdoors. She was an avid hiker and enjoyed kayaking, skiing, and snowshoeing. She and her husband, John, also traveled extensively in the US and Europe. They enjoyed studying local maps and the language, and loved planning their trips, almost as much as they loved the places themselves.
Barbara was predeceased by her mother and her husband of 34 years, John F. Kindelan.
Members of her family in addition to her father, H. Walter Tucker, of Milbridge include; her sister, Linda (Tucker) Burnham, of Brunswick, ME; niece, Kathryn Burnham and her children, Andrew and Eliza Clark of Cumberland Foreside, ME; nephew, Kent Burnham of New York, NY; and cousins, Merilee (Adams) Bryant of Gorham, ME and Fred Adams of Gorham, ME.
The family would like to thank her many friends and co-workers who provided meals, rides to doctorâs appointments, DVDs, magazines and comfort. A special thank you to the hospice volunteers for their time, their prayers and their kindness.
