Barbara (Martischnig) Kingsbury, 69, of Hinsdale, NH passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital, surrounded by the ones she loved as she quietly began her next adventure.
She was born in Adams, MA on October 11, 1944, the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Chase) Martischnig. She was a 1962 graduate of Adams Memorial High School. Barbara had several careers in her lifetime, including banking, owning Sherman's Country Store in Chesterfield, NH and working as a teacher's aide at Hinsdale Elementary School.
Despite her failing health, Barbara kept connected to family and friends through social media and email. She was fond of online games and Pinterest. When she was able, she loved to attend plays at the Shea Theater in Turners Falls, MA.
Barbara was the beloved wife of 21 years to Charles R. Kingsbury of Hinsdale; devoted mother to her daughter, Tanya (Czernich) Brown and stepson, Charles Kingsbury II.

Barbara chose to donate her body to science, and will be spending at least a year at Harvard Medical School. As a result, there are no plans for a memorial or service at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barbara's name to American Lung Association of the Northeast, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
