Barbara K. Lemay

Barbara Karen Lemay, 52, passed away on December 1, 2023 surrounded by her loved ones after a valiant battle with cancer. Born in Hackensack, NJ on August 6, 1971, she was a daughter of Raymond Lemay Sr. and Margaret (Jordan) Lemay. She was the longtime companion of Craig Nowak.

Barbara’s younger years were spent living in various places as a daughter in a military family, though she made many fond memories at the Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base in North Carolina. Eventually her family settled in New Hampshire and she was a 1991 graduate of Manchester West High School. Barbara hated winter and loved to spend time at the beach in the summer, especially at the family beach house in Surry, ME. She loved her dogs beyond measure and her family and friends looked forward to her daily weather updates and dog photos.

Barbara is survived by her loving partner, Craig Nowak of Goffstown; her parents, Raymond Lemay Sr. and Margaret Lemay of Manchester; her siblings, Diane Caron and her husband Leopaul of Belmont, Deborah Lambert of Hooksett, Raymond Lemay Jr. of Manchester, and John Lemay of Hooksett; her second family, including Sykler Nowak of Vermont, Robin Carlisle of Bedford, and Christian and Whitney Nowak of Hampton Falls; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She is also survived by her beloved Doberman, Ruger, and was predeceased by her German Shepherd, Khaleesi.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, December 8^th from 4PM-7PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH. Family and friends are invited to attend.
