Barbara A. Mitchell

On January 3, 2020 the world lost one of its good people.
Barbara Anne Mitchell passed peacefully after a long illness.
Lots of words can be used to describe Barbara:
Kind, loving, caring, mother, wife, sister, daughter, grandmother, aunt, friend,
argumentative and frustrating at times but always quick to smile and laugh,
Intelligent, independent and somewhat reclusive,
Stubborn and strong-willed, resilient, animal lover.
Thousands more words could be said and make us relate
But would really only paint a two-dimensional portrait of Barbara,
Except for those who were lucky enough to know and love her.
For us she was, and in many ways still is, an energy,
Part of the goodness of our being that cannot be lost.
She is survived by her children Susan, Laurie and Peter;
Son-in-law Michael; sister Mary Jane;
grandchildren Heather, Rachel, Laura and Kate;
Nieces, nephews and a long list of relatives and friends who love and miss her dearly
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name
to an Alzheimer's research charity
