Barbara G. (Conway) O’Rourke, 83, of Manchester, passed away at her residence on November 3, 2021, surrounded by loving family.
She was born in Haverhill, MA on December 28, 1937, the daughter of John and Marjorie (Edgley) Conway. She had worked in the offices of the NH State Prison for Men for over 20 years until her retirement at the age of 82. Prior to that, she worked for New England Telephone.
She loved spending time with her family, friends, especially her grandchildren, and watching and caring for the family dogs. She was an avid reader, enjoyed going out for seafood, browsing the aisles of Barnes & Nobles, drinking Dunkin’s coffee, and watching true crime TV. She spread kindness everywhere she went.She had been a parishioner of St. Raphael Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband John J. O’Rourke, Sr. who passed in 1988.
Family members include three sons, John O’Rourke, Jr. and his wife Stacey of Manchester, Kevin O’Rourke and his wife Denise of Hooksett, and Stephen O’Rourke and his wife Liell of Manchester; six grandchildren, Matthew, Katelyn, Kathleen, Kimberly, Nikki, and Julia; two great grandchildren, Brinley, and Atlas; two sisters, Joan Quinn of PA and Marcia Doucet of OH; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Calling hours wil take place on Thursday, June 9th from 5 to 8 PM at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 10th at 10:00 AM in St. Raphael Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
