Barbara Sears

Barbara E. Sears, 63, passed away unexpectedly in her home on August 11th, 2025. Barbara was an 11th generation Cape Codder who grew up on the bay with salt water in her veins.

She was predeceased by her parents, David C Sears and Nancy (Snow) Sears of East Dennis. Barb attended Dennis Yarmouth High School and worked at Mid Cape Home Centers in South Dennis for many years.

She found her true joy with animals, she passed away with her two rescue dogs, Nyx and Karma, and her two birds, Bentley and Tiny, and is survived by her three horses, Wideke, Kit, and Rowdy. Barb was well known for her work in the animal rescue community, believing that every animal deserved a chance and regularly taking them herself. She saved countless animals in her life, often taking the hard cases who had limited options and giving them a loving home. Any animal who passed through her door was lucky to be under her care. She was a force to be reckoned with and did anything and everything for those she cared about.
