Barbara H. (Collins) Smalley, 60, of 423 Hall Street, died November 18, 2002 at the Elliot Hospital following a brief illness. She was born in Lancaster on December 12, 1941, the daughter of Arthur and Olive (Walker) Collins had had been a Manchester resident for most of her life. She had worked as a bartender for a number of years at the North American Social Club. She was the widow of Marvin Smalley, Sr. who died in 1975. Family members, include two sons, Joseph Poirier of North Richland Hills, TX and Marvin Smalley, Jr. of Manchester; a daughter, Bonnie Pettigrew of Manchester; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Sonny Ripley of Maidstone, VT and Ronnie Collins of Manchester; two sisters, Elaine Hastings of Keene and Irene Bisson of Concord; and many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. Calling hours will be at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street on Thursday from 2 to 6 PM. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. After cremation, urn burial will take place in Jefferson at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 360 Route 101, Unit 501, Bedford, NH 03110.
