BENTON LYONS, SR.
LITTLETON, NH Benton Lyons, Sr., age 94, of 502 Colonial Court, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 26th at the Littleton Regional Hospital.
He was born on July 15, 1911, a son to Edward and Annie (Cryans) Lyons, in Whitefield, NH. He attended schools in Beecher Falls, VT and Colebrook, NH.
Ben worked for Holly Shoe Company, Saranac Glove Company, Connors and Hoffman Shoe Company, and for many years until his retirement as a contract Star Route mail carrier servicing Littleton to Pittsburg Post Offices and later Littleton to Guildhall, VT.
He leaves three children, Benton Lyons, Jr. and his wife, Pat from Littleton, NH; Marilyn Boucher from Berlin, NH; Carroll (Bud) Lyons and his wife, Berta from Littleton, NH; two sisters, Phylis Wilson from Old Orchard Beach, ME, and Gloria Jock from Corpus Christie, Texas; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he will always be remembered as Gramps; and his very caring companion Hattie Fulford. His wife, Clara, predeceased him in 1995.
SERVICES A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. John Fleming officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem at a later date.
