Bernard C. Moreau

Bernard Clifford Moreau, 87, died July 6, 2005 at the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown after a period of declining health. Born Feb. 20, 1918 in Berlin. He was the son of Aime and Irene (Perry) Moreau. He graduated from Berlin High School in 1936. During World War II he served in the United States Army, 172nd Field Artillery and took part in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded the Bronze Star. He was an avid skier and particularly enjoyed working at Wildcat Ski area while he lived in Berlin. He moved to Manchester approximately forty years ago. He worked in construction and after retiring he worked for the Holiday Inn, now the Radisson. He is survived by a son, Rick Moreau of Vail, Co. and two sisters; Pearl Legere of Berlin, Pauline Goddard of Concord, several nieces and nephews and his longtime companion; Lorraine McNeill of Weare. He was predeceased by his wife Cecile Moreau and a son Gary Moreau. There are no calling hours. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Friday at St. Lawrence Church, Goffstown, NH. Burial will be held at a later date at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Berlin. Memorial donations may be made to the Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown. Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium is in charge of arrangements. For more information, go to www.phaneuf.net
