Bertha M. (Pellerin) Chartrain, 89, formerly of 63 Joliette Street, died June 5, 2007.<br><br>She was born in Manchester on August 18, 1917, the daughter of Lewis and Rose (Dionne) Pellerin and had been a lifelong resident of the city. <br><br>She was co-owner of New England Floor for over 30 years with her husband until her retirement. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Jean the Baptist Church (Parish of the Transfiguration) and was a member of the Joliette Club Womens Group. She also belonged to the Manchester Country Club, the ACA and was a past board member of Notre Dame Hospital. Bertha gave generously to many charities and was a loving aunt to her many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Lafayette Chartrain who died in 1978 and by 16 brothers and sisters.<br><br>Family members include a sister, Simone Poisson of Goffstown; and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, in-laws and cousins.<br><br>Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 O'Clock at the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
