Bertha M. (Pellerin) Chartrain, 89, formerly of 63 Joliette Street, died June 5, 2007.<br><br>She was born in Manchester on August 18, 1917, the daughter of Lewis and Rose (Dionne) Pellerin and had been a lifelong resident of the city. <br><br>She was co-owner of New England Floor for over 30 years with her husband until her retirement. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Jean the Baptist Church (Parish of the Transfiguration) and was a member of the Joliette Club Women’s Group. She also belonged to the Manchester Country Club, the ACA and was a past board member of Notre Dame Hospital. Bertha gave generously to many charities and was a loving aunt to her many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Lafayette Chartrain who died in 1978 and by 16 brothers and sisters.<br><br>Family members include a sister, Simone Poisson of Goffstown; and many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces, in-laws and cousins.<br><br>Calling hours will be at the Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 250 Coolidge Avenue on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday morning at 10 O'Clock at the Parish of the Transfiguration. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sisters of the Precious Blood Monastery, 700 Bridge Street, Manchester, NH 03104.
