Berthe A. (Richer) Demers, 97 of Manchester died peacefully with her family by her side after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on May 18, 1924 she was the daughter of George and Alice (Janelle) Richer.
She was educated at St. Marie High School and worked many years in the cafeteria at St. Marie/West Side Catholic School.
She was a member of St. Anne Sodality and Catholic War Veteran Aux. Unit 1749.
She volunteered many years at St. Marie School, Church, Parish office and at the VA Medical Center. She was an avid bingo player.
She was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 1994, daughter Sr. Janet Demers PM in 2019, son Robert Demers in 2021, brothers George Richer, Donald Richer and sister Juliette Clark.
Family members include son Raymond Demers and wife Lorraine, daughter Suzanne Piotrowski and husband Robert of Manchester and daughter in law Sara Demers of Bedford, five grandchildren Michael Demers, Lisa Harvey, Kristyn Bond, Ryan Demers and Kelly Capp and 1 great grandson Brendan Harvey as well as nieces and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 8:30AM-9:30AM at the Phaneuf Funeral Home, 250 Coolidge Avenue, Manchester. A Mass of Christian burial will immediately follow at 10:00AM at the Sacred Heart Church, 265 South Main St, Manchester. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will follow in Mount Cavalry Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sisters of Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Rd Manchester, NH 03104.
