Bertrand C. Provencher of Manchester, NH passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 11, 2023 at the Villa Crest Nursing & Retirement Center.
He was born in Manchester, NH on July 12, 1931 to Angelina (Bergeron) and Charles Provencher. After graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1949, he joined the US Navy during the Korean War. After his service, he married his high school sweetheart, Joan Bouchard.
He completed his apprenticeship for the typographical union and went to work at the Manchester Union Leader as a compositor. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling, family gatherings, summers RV camping on the oceanfront in York, ME and winters in Fort Myers, FL.
He was predeceased by his wife Joan after 63 years of marriage; and survived by four children, Ronald, Judith and her husband Clay, Paul, Carl and his wife Donna; two grandchildren, Lisa and her husband Steve, and Tina; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Paige; and his sister-in-law, Sister Claudette Bouchard M.I.C.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Villa Crest for their many years of care.
Services will be held on Wednesday, May 31st. Family and friends are invited to gather at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester at 10AM for a 10:30AM memorial service. He will be laid to rest at 12PM at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen, NH.
