Brandon Patrick Dion, 27, passed away suddenly on July 5, 2020, having lived his life on his own terms. Brandon was born in Nashua on March 5, 1993, the son of Tamara (Laplante) Genest.
Brandon attended Saint Francis of Assisi School, which was one of the happiest times in his life, developing a close relationship with his sister, whom he adored. He also attended Pembroke Academy and Manchester West High School. He was a member of the Boy Scouts, where he developed a love for the outdoors and enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball and basketball. He was a gifted left-handed pitcher as well as a switch hitter. He felt at home on a baseball pitcher's mound. He was an avid fan of all Boston sports teams and watched games whenever he could. Brandon especially loved spending time with his maternal grandparents and loved spending time at the beach. He enjoyed many warm weather activities. Brandon had a heart of gold and would do anything for family or a friend. This world has lost a special star, one whose light will never go out.
A loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, cousin and friend, the loss will be felt by many.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Tamara and Richard Genest; his grandparents, Patrick and Joane Laplante; his aunt, Deborah Laplante; his siblings, Ashley and Alex Dion; his cousins, Hope, Taylor and Noah Couture; his step-siblings, Stephanie Desmarais and Ashley Genest; step-grandmother Joan Sarette, as well as extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 13th from 4-7pm with a funeral service at 7pm at Phaneuf Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 243 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to either SARDAA-Schizophrenia and Related Disorders Alliance of America or The Granite State Recovery Center.
