BETHLEHEM, NH -- Bruce G. Charland, 55, passed away peacefully at his home while surrounded by family and friends on June 21, 2014. Bruce bravely and courageously battled cancer for over 6 years with his loving and supportive wife, Debra (Collins) Charland and countless family and friends by his side every step of the way.

He was born and raised in Bethlehem, NH, to Arnold and Lois (Lang) Charland on October 18, 1958. He attended Littleton High School and graduated class of 1976. He graduated from Vermont Technical College as a Civil Engineering Technician. He was a dedicated employee for the State of NH for almost 33 years before retiring in January 2012.

He enjoyed spending time with family, especially his two precious grandsons who were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed NASCAR racing, camping with family and friends and spending quality time with his buddies at the sugar house. He loved to putter around the house and always made sure that the grounds were well maintained and pleasing to the eye. He always had many different projects going on, loved to build and fix anything and everything. He spent countless hours working on his automobiles.

He is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Debra (Collins) Charland; son, Bruce Charland Jr. and wife Kerrie of Littleton NH; daughters, Tanya Rivera of Littleton, NH, Krista Girard of Littleton NH; son, Robert Girard of Lyme, NH; brothers, Brian Charland and wife, Rachel of Bethlehem NH, Vincent Charland of Bethlehem NH; daughter Amiee Fryburg; 2 grandsons, Carter Charland & Breezyn Girard both of Littleton, NH and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

Bruce is predeceased by his father.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.

SERVICES – A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 28th at 12:30 p.m. in the Maple Street Cemetery in Bethlehem with Rev. Lyn Winter and Rev. Bob Schneider officiating.
